Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 21, 2026
Camfront LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("Camfront," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the Camfront application — on the web at usecamfront.com and as native applications for iOS and Android (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This Privacy Policy describes how Camfront collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information in connection with the Service, including the choices available to users regarding their information.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (if you provide it)
- Password (stored in hashed form — we cannot read your password)
1.2 Location Data
- Saved locations: When you add hunting stands, blinds, cameras, or sign markers (scrapes, rubs, bedding areas), we store the GPS coordinates you provide or that are captured when you place the marker.
- Map use: When you use map features such as "My location," your device's current location may be accessed to center the map. We do not continuously track your real-time location in the background.
- Walks: If you tap "Start walk" on the map, the app records your location continuously while that walk is running, so you can follow your own trail back. Recording stops when you stop the walk — it never runs before you start one or after you end one. Your trail and a pin where you started are saved on your device so you can view the walk later; walks are not shared, sold, or combined with other hunters' data.
- Location data is used to display your spots on the map and to generate location-specific hunt forecasts.
1.3 Trail Camera Photos
- Photos you upload from trail cameras, including any metadata embedded in the image files (such as capture timestamps). Where embedded metadata is unavailable, we may derive the capture time from the photo's filename.
- Photos are stored so you can view, organize, and associate them with your cameras and locations.
- Photo storage is subject to per-camera caps based on your plan (see our Terms of Service).
1.4 Hunt Logs, Buck Tracking, and App Content
- Hunt logs, notes, stand observations, "Was the read right?" feedback, and other content you enter.
- Buck tracking data: named bucks you track, manual "Eyes On" sightings (including date, time, stand, antler details, and weather at time of sighting), and pattern badges generated from your sighting history.
- Season planning data and preferences.
1.5 Usage and Device Information
- On our website, we collect basic log data such as browser type, pages viewed, and approximate location from your IP address.
- Our mobile apps do not include analytics or crash-reporting software, and they do not collect a device identifier. The apps use your device's location only as described in Section 1.2. If you install the app through Google Play or the App Store, the store may provide us with basic technical information about your device and app crashes through its standard developer tools (such as the phone model, Android or iOS version, and crash reports); we use that information only to fix problems and improve the app.
- We use this information to operate, improve, and secure the Service.
1.6 Payment Information
- Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
- If you subscribe inside the iOS or Android app, your payment is processed by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. We receive only limited billing metadata (such as subscription status) from the stores.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including your account, saved spots, photos, and logs).
- Generate Hunt Read forecasts, including AI-powered features, based on your data, weather, and historical patterns.
- Process subscriptions and payments.
- Communicate with you about your account, the Service, and updates.
- Improve the Service, including analyzing aggregated and anonymized usage patterns.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only as described below:
3.1 AI Processing — xAI
To generate Hunt Read forecasts (powered by Camfront Intelligence™), we transmit relevant information to xAI's API, including weather context, saved stand and location information, hunt log entries, and buck sighting patterns. This information is processed to generate the AI-powered forecasts and recommendations you request. If you use Story Log, the story text you enter is transmitted to xAI to draft your hunt log entry; you review and confirm the draft before anything is saved.
According to xAI's published API data practices, API inputs and outputs are not used to train its AI models without explicit permission. xAI generally retains encrypted API requests and responses for up to 30 days for auditing and abuse-prevention purposes, after which they are automatically deleted under its standard retention practices. This retention is managed by xAI independently of Camfront's account deletion process.
We do not transmit your account password, payment card details, or trail-camera photographs to xAI. Photo-processing features that would transmit photographs to xAI are currently disabled. If we enable such functionality in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before doing so, and photographs will be transmitted only when you choose to use that feature.
xAI's processing and retention practices are subject to its applicable terms and privacy policies.
3.2 Payment Processing — Stripe
Payment details you provide at checkout are processed directly by Stripe, Inc. We receive only limited billing metadata (such as subscription status) from Stripe.
3.3 App Store Payments — Apple and Google
Subscriptions purchased inside the iOS or Android apps are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The stores share limited billing metadata with us — such as subscription status and renewal dates — so we can provide your plan. They do not share your full payment details with us.
3.4 Hosting — Vercel
The Service is hosted on infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc. Your data is stored and transmitted through Vercel's systems as necessary to operate the Service.
3.5 Database and Photo Storage — Supabase
Your account data (saved locations, hunt logs, buck tracking, and account records) and your trail camera photos are stored using database and storage services provided by Supabase, Inc.
3.6 Weather Forecasts — Open-Meteo
To generate forecasts for your saved locations, the coordinates of those locations are sent to Open-Meteo, our weather data provider, which returns the weather data used in your Hunt Read. No account information is sent with these requests.
3.7 Legal and Safety Disclosures
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request.
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Camfront, our users, or the public.
- Investigate fraud or violations of our Terms of Service.
3.8 Business Transfers
If Camfront LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership.
We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information, saved locations, photographs, hunt logs, and other content for as long as your account remains active, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.
In-App Account Deletion. When you delete your account using the Delete Account feature within the app, your account information, saved locations, photographs, hunt logs, and other associated content are deleted immediately from Camfront's active application database and photo storage.
Deletion Requests by Email. If you cannot access your account, you may request deletion by contacting support@usecamfront.com. We will verify and process your request within 30 days, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Limited Retention Exceptions. Certain information may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. Payment processors and other service providers may independently retain transaction records, security logs, or other information in accordance with their applicable retention practices and legal obligations.
Third-Party Processing. Information previously transmitted to service providers, including xAI, may remain subject to those providers' independent retention schedules. As described in Section 3.1, xAI generally retains API request and response records for up to 30 days under its standard practices.
Camfront's current primary application database does not maintain separate project backup archives or point-in-time recovery copies. Accordingly, deleted account content is not retained in those types of database backups.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information.
Camfront also provides the following account management options:
- Access: You may request information about the personal data associated with your account.
- Correction: You may update certain account information through the Service or contact us to request corrections.
- Deletion: You may delete your account directly within the app or request deletion by contacting us, as described in Section 4.
- Data Export: You may request a copy of your saved locations, hunt logs, and photographs by emailing support@usecamfront.com. We will verify your request and provide the available information within 30 days of receiving it, subject to applicable law.
- Marketing Communications: You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link provided in those messages. We may continue sending communications necessary to operate your account or provide the Service.
To submit a privacy-related request, contact us using the information in Section 12. We will respond within 30 days or within any other period required by applicable law.
Certain requests may be subject to identity verification and exceptions permitted by applicable law. We will not deny or restrict any privacy right that applicable law requires us to provide.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Service uses browser cookies and local storage, or on-device storage in the mobile apps, to:
- Keep you signed in (authentication/session).
- Remember your preferences (such as map layer selection).
- Understand aggregate usage to improve the Service.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some functionality, including staying signed in.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account holders must be at least 18 years old (see our Terms of Service). If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Contact us if you believe this has occurred.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed password storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Availability and Data Processing
The Service is intended for users located in the United States. We use third-party service providers to operate the Service, and personal information may be processed or stored in locations where those providers maintain operations, subject to applicable law and contractual safeguards.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry standard for how to respond to such signals, we do not currently respond to them.
